Dear parents, 

Homework will be set on a Thursday and books given out at the end of the day. Please can children return their books the following Tuesday. This will ensure that we have the allocation of time required to leave books, get them marked and then the next piece set! 

The homework set will be a consolidation of the skills we have been learning in class. There will often be an English and Maths task and maybe a piece relating to our Big Question focus! It is not essential that they complete everything as we recognise that some weeks/weekends are busier than others. They should aim to complete at least 1 of the pieces set. There is a smiley face section for them to colour, once they have completed that piece. 

Please can children try to read at home each evening (if possible). They ALL have a reading record to accompany their book and we are encouraging them to write in them when they read both at home and school. We are endeavouring to listen to each child read in class each week and we will record in their records also. 

There are spelling sheets available on the class page for this terms spellings. We will be looking at these in class but any opportunities to reinforce/practice at home would be advantageous!
