In Term 3 we will be reading two texts linked to our Big Question topic, Which is better: Stone, Bronze or Iron? These texts are: Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura and Stig of the Dump by Clive King. With these texts we will be looking at character descriptions and practising acting out different characters from the stories through hot seating and freeze frames. The children will create their own adventure stories set in the Stone Age using their learning from History also. We will be thinking about using adverbials of time, place and manner in our writing, using interesting and ambitious word choices and exploring ways to open sentences in different ways. Why not start reading these texts and consider how the authors build the characters through the text? How would you plan a story set in the Stone Age? Can you have a go at writing your own story linked to the Stone Age?
