Term 4 Week 1: Monday 22nd February - Friday 26th February
Welcome to Term 4 puffins and puffin families!
Due to us not yet returning to school as a class, I have put our World War 2 topic on hold. This is because the very practical and group-led nature of the topic, including our World War Two day, makes me feel that it would be better when we are together. Instead, this term our Big Question is: 'Is change inevitable?' I have brought in all aspects of the curriculum but, like I say in the video, please let me know any ideas that YOU have as this is YOUR Big Question and that really is the essence of the Big Question! I have organised some fun upcoming Zoom calls with different guests due to the lack of a school trip this term and hopefully we will be able to get back to normal school life soon.
As usual, our Maths this week includes MyMaths activities (I love seeing your scores and commenting) as well as my own videos, sheets and some White Rose. The topic this week and next is area and perimeter and covers a variety of shapes. On Tuesday, in particular, the lesson is highly differentiated due to the different stages we are all at. Please do not feel like you have to do everything. Go over what you need.
In English we are back to narrative writing and are beginning the week internalising ideas before writing extended pieces next week.
I really hope to see you all very soon!! I miss your enthusiasm, smiles, questions.. we'll meet again!
Mrs Hoad 😀
Welcome to Term 4!

N.B: The clip suddenly goes to a BBC clip without an introduction. This was footage of parts of the White Cliffs of dover falling into the sea and happened very recently.. on the 4th February of this year!!
