Week 6: Monday 8th February - Friday 12th February
Internet safety parent/ carer guidance
Week beginning Monday 8th February 🌈
Hello puffins and puffin families! This week is our final week before half-term and I wanted to say an enormous thank you for all your hard work, communication and positivity! This week we have lots of activities to try (but remember to do what works best for you!) As usual, there will be a Zoom again this week (details to follow).
This week is Internet Safety Week and on Tuesday at 11am the BBC are running a live lesson (see the Internet Safety folder for lesson activities and more). To access the site click: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/live-lessons/safer-internet-day-live-lesson/zdh2wnb but you can also watch it on CBBC or catch up on BBC iPlayer. (I have also included some parent/ carer guidance too as it know that internet safety can be a minefield for us too! See the top of the class page for documents attached).
We have a one-off Big Question this week: 'Why do rainbows represent positivity?' and I have included lots of learning links to rainbows as well as some snow themed activities taking into account the recent weather!
Finally, this week we will finish our ALGEBRA topic. I have included a range of resources, as usual, including my own videos, MyMaths and White Rose. This week, more than ever, there might be times where you feel challenged but remember to keep persevering (one of our school values!) You have done SO WELL up to now!
As a celebration of getting to the final week and to remember that we ALL make mistakes and have to persevere, here are some clips of my lockdown mistakes (from the 1st lockdown all the way to this week!) I hope it makes you SMILE and I cannot wait to see you all soon!

A HUGE well done to those children that took part in the WWF live Zoom today called 'Threats to nature: Illegal Wildlife Trade'. Those of you who have watched it were so interested and one of you said it was 'EXCELLENT!' So.. if you did miss it don't worry. You can still catch it (with parental permission to access) but it just won't be live:
One of our classmates has also recommended some websites following the Zoom:
Have a well-deserved rest this half-term break Year 6 and I hope to see you all very soon! I have loved seeing your work, faces on Zoom, pictures and videos this term!
I have attached an optional project for the half-term holidays to tie in with our future Big Question: Is Change Inevitable? This is only for those of you who have asked or would like it.
If you have any question ideas which you think we could investigate and links to CHANGE then please email or seesaw in any suggestions! Remember that you can help lead the direction of our learning!
