Term 1
Your Reading and Spelling work will stay the same every week - the Maths and Creative learning will change week to week so keep checking back here.
Wednesday 6th September
Reading | You should be aiming for at least 20 minutes per day of reading at home - this is on top of any reading that we do in school. |
Spellings | Practice the spellings on the list that you have been given ready for your spelling quiz each Monday. |
Maths | Spend some time on Times Tables Rock Stars - I would like to see you using 'Garage' for at least 30 minutes this week. Show me how good you are at your tables. |
Creative learning | Write a diary entry telling me all about the most exciting part of your summer holidays. |

Creative learning | Complete the below worksheet (Week 2 English Homework) on Compound Sentences - be creative at the end. |
An Apology - I completely missed handing Homework books back for last weeks work - if you have been unable to do last weeks home learning, I completely understand.

Wednesday 27th September

Spellings | Practice the spellings on the list that you have been given ready for your spelling quiz each Monday. |
Maths | We are in a battle of the bands with Year 3! Spend at least 30 minutes this week on TTRS so we can make sure we win the battle. I will be checking your stats and heatmap to see which tables we need the most practice on in class. |
Creative learning | How do you think the Iron man will end? We have one chapter left to read, what do you think might happen? |
Wednesday 4th October
Reading | You should be aiming for at least 20 minutes per day of reading at home - this is on top of any reading that we do in school. |
Spellings | Practice the spellings on the list that you have been given ready for your spelling quiz each Monday. |
Maths | You have been set 3 tasks on My Maths this week - don't worry, they're quite short tasks! |
Creative learning | Find a news article that is interesting to you, (it could be in a newspaper, a magazine, on a website like 'newsround') read the story and then write about it in your own words. Make sure you use the past tense and third person - we have practised these in class. |
Wednesday 11th October - This will be your last piece this term - hand your homework books in on the first day back after half term.
Reading | You should be aiming for at least 20 minutes per day of reading at home - this is on top of any reading that we do in school. |
Spellings | Practice the spellings on the list that you have been given ready for your spelling quiz each Monday. You will get a new list of spellings in the first week back - over half term you could practice any for this term that you found tricky. |
Maths | I will be checking - please spend at least 1 hour on Times Tables Rock Stars before we come back after half term. Completing lots of games on 'Garage' and 'Soundcheck' is really important.
Note: Only time spent completing times tables will go towards your 60 minutes - not time spent in the shop or changing your avatars outfits. |
Creative learning | Keep a half term diary - try to write in it every day. You only need to do a short entry each day but it just keeps you in the habit of practicing your writing and spelling over half term. |
