Term 2
Week Eight
We began this week by watching KS2 perform their Carol Concert which was great! We also got to see ‘Rock Steady’ in action and were especially proud of our Year 1 rockstars - you were amazing!
In English, we have been writing recounts about our roles in the nativity. We worked really hard (despite the Christmas craziness!) In maths, we have been working to find and create shape patterns with 2D and 3D shapes.
We made Christmas crowns in art and looked awesome in them for our delicious Christmas lunch on Wednesday! We also had a KS1 Christmas party that afternoon in the hall!
As if that wasn’t enough excitement, our naughty elf decided to treat us to cake decorating (he must have heard we collected all of our hedgehog rewards!) We enjoyed some Christmas computing activities, and then on our final afternoon we could choose to play, watch a Christmas movie or do arts and crafts.
Thank you so much for the cards and lovely gifts. They are really kind and we appreciate it very much. We hope you have a special Christmas break and a very happy new year. See you in 2026! Love from Mrs. Lawless and Mrs. Harding x
Week Seven
What a busy week it's been! We started the week with our first Nativity performance to the whole school! Tuesday and Wednesday was full of excitement (and nervous butterflies) as we prepared to perform for our grown ups! We thought that Year 1 did an amazing job, and we are really proud of everyone for taking part. Singing, dancing, speaking, talk animals... whatever your role - you were awesome! A big thank you to parents for all of your support with this - we hope you enjoyed the show!
Individual photos are below. Group photos can be accessed here.

In class, we have been doing some Christmas writing (cards, tags, handwriting, phonics and more!) In maths, we have been exploring 2D shapes creatively, and enjoyed making some Christmas pictures! We learned about 'gifts' in R.E and the Three Wise Men, and we created our own nativity scenes which we labelled independently. In Jigsaw, we learned about 'friendship' and thought about the qualities we have that make us a great friend. Friday brought more excitement with the tag day for The Rainbow Centre, and Christmas craft is in full swing - we hope you like the gifts coming your way! Our naughty elf has been up to no good again... you can find evidence in the elf diary below!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! 4 days to go!
