Term 3
As last term, the home learning for Reading and Spelling is the same for each week, with Spellings uploaded on to the Spelling Shed website - check back here to see an update for the rest of your home learning each week.
Wednesday 3rd January
Reading | You should be aiming for at least 20 minutes per day of reading at home - this is on top of any reading that we do in school. |
Spellings | Practice the spellings on Spelling Shed ready for your spelling quiz each Monday. We will also do some practice in class each day. |
Maths | Complete the MyMaths task on your mixed Times Tables to review our learning from last term. |
Creative learning | What was your favourite memory of the Christmas Holidays? Write it as a recount - don't forget what we have learnt about writing in the first person and past tense. I will be looking out for your spellings too! |
Wednesday 10th January

Maths | Complete the factor bugs on the worksheet. Remember factors normally come in pairs. The first couple have been started for you |
Creative learning | Ask an adult to take a photo of your open mouth, can you label all of the different types of teeth you have and what there jobs are? If you are missing any teeth, which ones are missing? |
Wednesday 17th January

Maths | Complete the My Maths learning on multiplying by 10 and 100. |
Creative learning | We have learnt about some of the different types of dragon that exist in 'How to Train your Dragon' - Create your own dragon with its own defining features. Draw and annotate (remember this means label) your dragon labelling its important features, skills and attributes. |

Maths | Complete the My Maths learning on multiplication. It will be important to do the lesson before the task this week to remind yourself of the formal method. |
Creative learning | To supplement our entry into the poetry competition - Once Upon a Dream, we have sent home an instructions sheet that shows you how to make a dream catcher. You could make one and hang it in your room to keep away some of the weird and wonderful dreams you have all shared with the class :) Ask your adults to put a picture in your home learning books or send one through to Mr Willson and we can print it at school. |
Wednesday 31st January
This is the last week of Home Learning for Term 3 - Please carry on reading and practicing of Times Table Rockstars throughout the half term - you will get your next piece of home learning in the first week back.

Spellings | Practice the spellings on Spelling Shed ready for your spelling quiz each Monday. We will also do some practice in class each day. |
Maths | Complete at least half an hours practice on TTRS over the next week. There is a Boys v Girls battle of the bands - there might be a special treat for the members of the winning team who take part. The battle starts today and ends next Tuesday - you will not be able to see the results so the more you practice, the more likely you are to win. |
Creative learning | We have learnt all about Shang China this term and read about 'How To Train Your Dragon'.
Next Saturday is Chinese new year and we enter the 'Year of the Dragon', could you create a lovely colourful decoration to celebrate Chinese New Year and make our classroom colourful. There are lots and lots of decoration ideas online if you struggle for inspiration. |
