KEY WORKERS

WE ARE DOING OUR VERY BEST TO SUPPORT YOU TO CARRY OUT YOUR VITAL ROLES.

HOWEVER, EVERY CHILD ATTENDING SCHOOL CARRIES A POTENTIAL RISK OF INFECTION TO OUR STAFF AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND OTHER CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.

IF YOU CAN SAFELY CARE FOR YOUR CHILD AT HOME,

THEN PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT SEND THEM INTO SCHOOL

SCHOOL CLOSURE DUE TO CORONA VIRUS

Update 24.3.20

Dear Parents,

Firstly, thank you for your patience and understanding, and for all your kind messages over the time it has taken us to make arrangements for the partial school closure.  And thank you to all of you who have moved your lives round to make arrangements to keep children at home. Every child not attending school potentially reduces the risk of infection for our staff and their families and other children and their families.

At the moment 2 teams of 6 staff are working in school on a rota basis, and we will sustain this as long as staff and/or their family members are well.

Staff have put lots of time and effort into providing as much learning support and guidance on the school website as they can, and they are still coming up with ideas to extend this. Many classes are posting a gallery of home learning, so do send in anything you would like to add to this. Miss Foster is keeping her class page up to date with the progress of the chicks who have just hatched, and the hamster! All class pages have lots of different ideas, so don't feel you need to stick to what is on your child's own class page. Feel free to use any of the activities and ideas from the different pages.  But also, please only do what you can manage.  This situation is clearly going to continue for some time, so pace yourselves!

If you need to communicate with us, some teachers are happy for you to contact them directly, and have supplied email addresses. Otherwise, please use my direct email address headteacher@lyminge.kent.sch.uk, as we have reduced our admin staff to a minimum, and my email address is the one most frequently checked.

We hope you all stay well and fine new and interesting things to do in your families that you might not have thought of before. We miss you and are thinking of you all.

With very best wishes

Helen D'cruz
